There are a few recipes that people tend to think are extremely hard to make like frosting – but it is actually really easy to make and it tastes A LOT better than store made frosting
If you want me to make more frosting recipes please let me know – I have a KILLER nutella frosting recipe ( you might just eat all the frosting yourself 😉 )
As you can see there are not much to this recipe – I cannot stress enough to make sure the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature – just leave both ingredients out a few hours before making the recipe
This recipe makes about 8 – 10 oz of frosting – enough for a cake. I love using a mason jar to store the frosting ( it can stay in the fridge for at least a few weeks – it never lasts that long in my house)
From start to finish the recipe takes under 10 minutes and the cost is comparable to what you pay in a store
This recipe is naturally gluten – free

Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 Cups of Powdered Sugar
- 6 oz of Cream Cheese ( soft)
- 4 oz of Butter, unsalted ( Room temperature)
- 2 tsp of Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- In a electric mixing bowl - cream butter and cream cheese together ( place mixing speed at medium) - creaming means the butter and cream cheese are completely mixing together and smooth
- Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and vanilla - mix for 3 minutes
- Add last cup of powdered sugar and mix for another 3 minutes
- Enjoy!

Great recipe! I added my own variations though. Instead of vanilla I added 1/4 top of rum extract a dash of allspice and a dash of cinnamon. It was stupid good with gingerbread cupcakes. Thank-you for the recipe!
