Tickets

MUSEUM ADMISSIONS TICKETS

Admission to the museum is free! (Rarely, some activities may have a fee. Check specific activity for details).
Everyone must register for a ticket.
No need to print your tickets, just check in with us at the front desk before you enjoy your museum experience.

FILM TICKETS

Most Culver Center films require a paid ticket. Get tickets now or in person, but if you get them now you can skip the line! Free screenings at UCR ARTS are overbooked. Please arrive early to ensure a seat.
Matinee (Saturday & Sunday afternoons): $8
General Admission: $10
Seniors (55+): $8
Students (with ID): $5

FOOD AND DRINK

Food and drinks are not allowed in the museum.
Water bottles must be sealed and in bags at all times.

BAGS AND OBJECTS

Large bags are not allowed in the museum.
Large objects are not allowed in the museum.
We do not have a coat or bag check. Please plan ahead.
Small backpacks, medical bags, and diaper bags are allowed if they are worn on your front (so you don’t accidentally bump the artwork).
Please don’t carry children on your back or shoulders.
Umbrellas must be kept in designated stands at the entrance.

PHOTOS AND SKETCHING

You may take photographs for personal use (unless otherwise indicated).
If you post on social, please tag us (@ucrarts) and use #ucrarts!
You may not use flash, video, selfie sticks, or tripods.
Unauthorized photo-shoots are prohibited.
If you’re sketching or taking notes, please use pencils (pens, markers, and paint can stain). You may borrow No. 2 pencils at the front desk!

RUNNING, JUMPING, TOUCHING, AND LEANING

For your safety, and the safety of the art, please do not run or jump in the museum.
Please do not touch the art.
Please do not lean against anything.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms for visitors are located on the first floor of the Culver Center of the Arts and the lower level and third floor of the California Museum of Photography.
All restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Family and all-gender restrooms are located on the third floor of the California Museum of Photography.
Baby-changing stations are in the second floor restrooms of the Culver Center of the Arts.

We are a part of the University of California, Riverside, but we aren’t on the university campus. We’re in the heart of downtown Riverside on a pedestrian-protected street. The entrance to the museum is at 3824 or 3834 Main St. between Market St. and Orange St. in downtown Riverside.

Take exit 64 for Mission Inn Ave. toward Downtown.
Turn right onto Mission Inn Ave. Turn left onto Lime St. Turn right onto University Ave. Turn left onto Orange St.
The entrance to the City of Riverside’s parking garage #2 is located on Orange St. on the right.
Additional garages are located on 9th St.

Groups & Tours

VISITING WITH A GROUP

Explore UCR ARTS with your class or group! Schedule a guided, interactive tour led by staff, or explore our changing exhibitions at your own pace on a self-guided visit.

BOOKING SCHOOL + GROUP VISITS

Guided tours and self-guided visits for groups of 10+ must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. Please follow the steps below to schedule your group visit.

Please note: Maximum capacity for school groups is 30 students. Schools must provide a minimum of 1 adult chaperone for every 10 students. Dates, staffing, and space is subject to availability. Your tour is not scheduled until you receive an official tour confirmation email.

FEE SCHEDULE

Tour guided by Museum Educator ($75 for up to 30 individuals).
Self-guided museum visit for school or adult groups during regular tour hours (free).

TIPS FOR VISITING

Useful tips to go over with your class or group before your trip to UCR ARTS.

  • If possible, leave coats, backpacks, and large bags at school or on the bus. They may not be taken into the galleries. They can be placed at the ticket desk before your tour begins.
  • Please do not text or make phone calls during tours.
  • Feel free to take photos but please turn off your flash. For the safety of the artworks, selfie sticks and tripods are not allowed. If you post your photos on social media, please use tag us using #ucrarts.
  • Help us preserve the artworks and do not bring food or drinks into the museum, and please refrain from touching the artworks.
  • Please do not lean on or against any structures, including sculptures, pedestals and walls. Our walls and pedestals are meant to hold artwork, not the weight of a person. This can be dangerous for the person and artwork.
  • For your safety and the safety of the art, please do not run or jump in the galleries.
  • Students and their chaperones must stay with their tour group and docent at all times during the tour.
  • If you’re sketching or taking notes, please use pencils. Pens, markers, and paint can stain. You can borrow #2 pencils at the ticket desk.
  • Chaperones, please take an active role in helping your students follow these guidelines.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Where can I read updates and information on your COVID-19 policies?
Please see here announcements and changes to normal operations.

Are you located on UCR’s campus?
No. We are located about 3 miles from campus at 3824 & 3834 Main St in downtown Riverside. For directions see here.

Is food and drink permitted in the museum and/or screening room?
No. Please finish food and drink before entering. There is outdoor seating on the pedestrian mall outside our main entrance where you can finish your food and drink before enjoying your time in the museum.

Are backpacks, large shopping bags, skateboards, large toys, or other large objects allowed in the museum?
No. This is for the safety of our visitors and artworks. UCR ARTS does not have a bag or coat check, so please plan ahead.

Is photography permitted?
Photography is permitted for personal use unless otherwise stated. Flash and additional equipment is prohibited in the galleries.

Can I touch the artworks?
Please refrain from touching the artworks. Most of our exhibitions do not include interactive components.

Can I sketch or take notes in the galleries?

How can I arrange a group visit or tour?
All groups over ten people require reservations. Please visit our education page for more information on how you can book a tour.

Does UCR ARTS rent its facilities for private events?
Yes. Certain spaces in the museum can be rented. Contact Amy Metcalf, Senior Events Manager at amy.metcalf@ucr.edu.

Does UCR ARTS offer art appraisal services?
UCR ARTS does not provide appraisal services and cannot recommend specific art appraisers.

How do I donate art to UCR ARTS?
Please contact Alyse Yeargan, Collections Manager at alyse.yeargan@ucr.edu. Please be advised that we cannot review donations on a walk-in basis and donations cannot be dropped off without prior arranged approval.

Can I request reproductions of works of art and/or permission to use them?

Is there a lost and found?
If you think you may have lost an item while visiting UCR ARTS, you may check with Visitor Services staff at the admissions desk or call 951-827-3755 or email ucrarts@ucr.edu.

TICKETING QUESTIONS

I have an AudienceView Campus account for UCR’s Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production ticketing site, but my credentials do not work on UCR ARTS’ web site. What is going on?
Each UCR department that hosts events manages their own ticketing site through AudienceView Campus. You will need to register on UCR ARTS’s individual site to purchase museum tickets. You may use the same email address, but you will need to set up a new profile. You will only need to set up a profile once on UCR ARTS’s site. After that, you will just need your email and password to log in.

I forgot my password. How do I get a new one?
Passwords can be reset here, selecting the login button, and following the prompts to reset your password.

Do I need to print my tickets?
You do not need to print your tickets. All visitors are still required to check in with staff at the admissions desk. Display your mobile ticket or confirm your order directly with staff.

Are children required to have tickets to enter?
Yes. Everyone ages 4 and up must have a ticket to enter.

Can I buy tickets in person instead of online?
Yes. You may purchase advance tickets at the Admissions Desk.

Do I need a ticket for films, exhibitions, events, even if they’re free?
While gallery admission is free, a ticket registration is still required. Most public programs are free and open to the public. Please check the event’s page for specific ticketing requirements. On occasion, we feature free film screenings as part of various public program series, however, most film screenings require paid admission. Early arrival is recommended. Please note: All visitors are required to check in with staff at the admissions desk before entering the galleries whether a free or paid ticket is required.

Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are nonrefundable, but can be exchanged once with no fees, up to 2 hours prior to the event. Exchange is based on availability and may take up to 72 hours to confirm. Call Visitor Services at 951-827-3755 or email ucrarts@ucr.edu with your exchange or refund questions.

What if I am still having trouble completing my online ticket purchase?
We are sorry that you are having difficulties. For help, call (951) 827-3755 to talk to a member of our staff; this line is answered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. You may also email Visitor Services at ucrarts@ucr.edu.

    How to reject UC Riverside? ›

    You may cancel your intent to attend UCR before the first day of instruction. See Cancellation for details. After the first day of instruction, you must submit an official Undergraduate Withdrawal Form.
